Armani's maiden venture in hotels, set on 11 floors of the Burj Khalifi Tower, the world's tallest building. The FT's Travelista announced the launch of Armani Hotel Dubai in March 2010, highlighting 160 rooms and suites, a nightclub (Armani Prive), a florist specializing in rare blooms (ArmaniFiori) and Japanese, Indian and Mediterranean restaurants. "All will be awash in the rigorous neutrals and conspicuously hushed Zen calm on which Mr Armani is purportedly rigorously and endlessly insistent." So we can only imagine how over-the-top Atlantis Dubai is (children would love it), but Vanity Fair raved about the underwater suites there in June 2010 and they actually sound very cool. "The Lost Chambers suites at Atlantis the Palm, Dubai, are submerged, so that the view from your room is right into the Ambassador Lagoon, where sharks can see you naked in the bath.
