"Another relative newcomer [in Boston] is the Mandarin Oriental, which has already established itself as one of the most luxurious places to stay -- not least because, in addition to a classy bar and first-rate spa (where treatments combine New England herbs with Asian therapies), it is home to an impressive collection of contemporary art (works by David Pockney and Frank Stella adorn the lobby). [FT,  How to spend it, Smooth Guide to Boston] The Mandarin Oriental Boston is located in fashionable Back Bay district.

Nine Zero's bar/restaurant, KO Prime, is a popular local hangout.

Top notch sushi spot in Boston. Wasabi is hand-made daily, toro is succulent and melts in your mouth. Yellowtail and the more urbane sea urchin are both tender and un-fishy. Show up early to avoid waiting for a table or eat at the bar.
