Where to stay - ARGENTINA
+ TATLER
A Tatler spa pick in Patagonia's wine country. New 18-room boutique hotel in Neuquen [other worldly forests of monkey trees and numerous dinosaur digs]. Tatler writes about Valle Perdido, "The whole place is goggle-eyed about viticulture: estate-bottled wines are drunk with wild board and venison and the wine bar is all about the Havanas and glasses of Malbec. So, not obviously healthy stuff, But then there is the spa, with cool-mist showers, sauna and indoor/outdoor pool, [therapies maximizing grape components]. It's a question in other words, of detoxing before retoxing." [Tatler, Valle Perdido, review]

The only hotel facing the Perito Moreno Glacier is waiting for you. Los Notros is only open from September to April."  [Kiwi Collection]

Fashionable hotel in the "pretty" colonial town Salta, in the foothills of the Andes. Commenting on Legado Mitico,  the FT writes, "The former home of one of the patrician clans, its colonial wardrobe now holds the property's Argentinean wine collection and a huge library has volumes about the region's wine history." In March 2009, Tatler featured Legado Mitico in Hotel hotspot: "Forget contemporary cool- this hotel is full of antique Argentine flair so you won't forget where you are. The owners--architects Javier Figueroa and Horacio Menendez--also have a B&B in Buenos Aires--a cool insider spot." Doubles from $150.
