New York City
Glitzy relaunch of an old-time restaurant in Midtown Manhattan, by Vanity Fair editor Graydon Carter. His other restaurant, Waverly Inn, is a highly-sought after dinner spot of boldface NYC names and his new venue is all the rage, especially among social types. New York Social Diary comments, "The décor is a mélange of mid-20 century pastiche – El Morocco/Racquet and Tennis Club/Luxury oceanliner/Art Deco does the Stork-Goes-'21.' " If that makes no sense, it’s glamorous, darkish, sophisticated and relaxed. The menu is High Comfort Food, not at all unlike the Waverly’s." Our friends suggest dressing smart if you want to score a table. Learn all about the Monkey Bar in the attached NYSD review.
