Blue Hill Café (Rockefeller Estate)
Tarrytown, 45 minutes outside city
If you're looking to get out of the city on a nice day, the Stone Barns on the Rockefeller Estate just outside Tarrytown offers a beautiful, rural setting with extensive walking trails. Its Blue Hill Café serves amazing organic fare such as duck panini, beet salad and the most fluffy egg salad you've ever tasted (If you don't like egg salad, you'll be converted). Children will enjoy the nature trails, featuring the cutest pigs. The Blue Hill Restaurant is über fancy and expensive, but our favorite is the outdoor courtyard setting of the highly affordable café. Easy 45 minute drive from the city or a quick cab ride from Tarrytown station.
