New York City
Crosby Street Hotel
Super-stylish boutique hotel in Manhattan/Soho, "housed in a brutish faux-industrial brick box," by the much-acclaimed Kemp team from London (Covent Garden Hotel, Charlotte Street, Haymarket). Great hotel in Manhattan for serious design junkies. In October 2009 Vanity Fair writes about Crosby Street Hotel, "The Kemps have a valiant aversion to value engineering in their projects. Kit, who does the decorating herself, treats the places as if they were her own homes..... David-Hicks-the-Mad-Hatter's-Apartment-on-Acid may be the best way to describe what Kit has created here: a rich environment with a full color spectrum, including chartreuse, aubergine, and persimmon." There are two charming gardens. Tatler writes in March 2013, The Crosby is eccentric - gloriously so - in a London-meets-London sort of a way. It's breezy and flower-filled, crammed with oversized steel-heads, pop-art pictures of the Queen, and dogs. Lots of dogs." Elle Decor also admired the Crosby Street Hotel's design and gardens.
