Harper's Bazaar remarks, "Le Prince Maurice has always been the sine qua non luxury Mauritian hotels."  In the attached FT article about famous writers' observations on Mauritius, Claire Wrathall writes, "Visitors with literary preoccupations might do well to stay at the Prince Maurice, the only hotel in the world to award a biannual prize for romantic fiction. With its overwater [beach] suites on stilts and lagoon seafood restaurant that floats on pontoons, it’s a romantic place in its own right." In June 2012, Hollywood actor Claire Forlani tells Harper's Bazaar that Constance Le Prince Maurice is her favourite hotel on the island.
